Last of the Summer Flowers

Decided to take a break from sewing and enjoy the garden and going out on the boat.   Have managed to make two aprons and bowls for the granddaughters.

These are the last of the summer flowers in the garden.

So nice to be able to make girly things

I am now going to spend my day making a bag....
whoopee no assessment day to meet for the first time in four years!

Trip to South Africa

Doortjie (my wonderful friend who started me off on my quilting journey) with some of her ladies she teaches to knit, crochet and sew.  They make items (such as this colourful blanket) to raise monies to help groups that look after the disadvantaged children and families in the Montagu area.   They also make cuddle toys for the younger children.

Doortjie is now on a three month trip around South Africa and Namiba teaching quilting to various groups in remote areas.  She is such an inspirational and talented lady.
