I started this cushion two years ago but somehow have only just been able to finish it as the Diploma got in the way.

I used Procion Dyes (ice dying) and Heat Transfer Paints for the synthetic materials.  Purchased ribbons and threads for added embellishment.  Because it was so long ago when I started it I had lost instructions on how to finish it  off.  I added two borders and a simple wrap over back panel (I must tackle button holes one day soon).  It actually looks greener than shown in the photo.

The inspiration for this work in progress came from a photo I took of trees and bushes that were growing along the railway line last Autumn.  Just loved the colours.

It is so nice to be working on a new piece of work and know that I do not have to submit it for marking.  Two weeks ago I got together with my former Diploma classmates for a weekend of creating a textured base and adding decoration to the top.  Continuing my Norfolk Broads theme I decided to focus on water lilies and this is work in progress.
